Thalipeeth Maharashtrain pancake
Thalipeeth is a Maharashtrain multi-grain pancake popular.The flour is made up of Bajra atta,Chana daal, Urad daal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, wheat, and rice.
It’s highly nutritious and serves as very heavy breakfast or snacks for your family. Very easy and simple to cook. Check out the recipe below.
Preparation Time – 10 minutes
Cooking Time – 10 minutes
Serves – 2
Ingredients
250 gm thalipeeth flour(easily available in stores)
1 finely chopped onion
2 finely chopped green chilies
1 Tbsp coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Pinch of red chili powder
Warm water for kneading
Oil for cooking
Directions || How to prepare thalipeeth
Take thalipeeth flour ,add onions, chilies, coriander leaves, salt to taste, red chili powder and 1 tsp oil.
Knead the mixture into a dough by adding little warm water at a time. Make small round balls from the dough and set it aside.
To flatten these balls into round breads, take plastic sheets and cut them in large squares from zip lock bags.
If you don’t have any , don’t worry I used aluminium foil.
Place the dough ball on the sheet and using your palm start flattening the dough into a small round circle.
Apply some oil on your palm to avoid the dough to stick
Add about 1/2 tsp oil on the tawa and with the help of the sheet pick up and place the thalipeeth on the tawa/pan. make sure your that the sheet
doesn’t touch the hot pan)
Cook approximately for two minutes on medium heat on both the sides.
Serve hot with any pickle or tomato ketchup.
Moong dal Methi uttapam
Moong Dal Methi Uttapam is very nutritious and yummy appetizer,it can served as snacks or can be had as light dinner.
This recipe clicked me one day when i was starving , wanted to prepare something quick and could serve as light dinner.
It is quick and simple not only it adds good taste but also adds lot of nutritonal value.
Prep time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Serves:2+ people , makes around 4-5 uttapams.
Ingredients
1 cup each of moong dal,soaked for 4-5 hours. (Alternatively can use 250 grams of moong dal flour..)
2 -3 tsp (ginger+garlic+green chilly) paste.
1 medium size onion chopped.
1 medium size tomato finely chopped.
2-3 springs of Methi leaves finely chopped.
Salt to taste
Oil to cook.
Directions
Grind the Moong dal(Can use moong dal Flour).Add required quantity of water so that the consistency of batter is spreadable(similar to dosa batter)
In it add the onion,tomatoes,methi & ginger-garlic-green chilly paste & mix well,also add salt as per taste & mix well.
Heat Non-stick pan & Spread oil on it.
Pour the batter in the centre of the pan & spread it evenly with a spoon.
Apply oil from the sides of the spread batter for crispiness.
Cover & cook for 2-5 min on both the sides.
Serve with Tomato sauce or any chutney of your choice.
Tips:
Can add more veggies to the batter like capsicum,cabbage or carrots to prepare Moong Dal veg Uttapam.
Apple Honey Pancakes

Makes 4 pancakes
Ingredients
1/2 cup grated apples
1/2 tbsp honey
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
1 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp condensed milk
melted butter for greasing and cooking
1/2 cup water
pinch of salt
For Serving
Honey
Direction || How to prepare Pancakes
Combine the all purpose flour , baking powder , apple, honey, , melted butter, condensed milk and water in a deep bowl and mix well to make a smooth batter making sure that no lumps remain.
Add a pinch of salt to it and sprinkle 1 tbsp of water over it and mix
Grease a non-stick pan using a little butter.
Pour approximately 1Β½ tbsp of batter and spread it lightly.
Cook, using a little butter, till they turn crisp and golden brown from both the sides.
Repeat step 3 to 5 to make more mini pancakes.
Drizzle few drops of honey and serve immediately.

Turai(Ridge Gourd fritters) Pakoda
A ridge gourd , also commonly known as Turai or Turiya or Dodka (in Marathi) is a well beloved in India.
Its hard skin is peeled off and chopped and cooked as desired.But do you know you can also have this veggie as snacks.
Check out this soft yet crunchy Turai ke pakore(fritters) recipe.
Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 10 minutes
Servings : 4
Main Ingredients
4 medium size (turai)ridge gourd
2 cups besan/gram flour
Β½ tsp red chili powder
ΒΌ tsp garam masala powder
a pinch of asafoetida powder
a pinch of turmeric powder or haldi
a pinch of baking soda or baking powder (optional)
water – add as required to make a thick flowing batter
oil for deep frying or shallow frying the pakoras
1 tsp chaat masala to sprinkle from above
Directions || How to make Turai ke Pakoda
Peel and cut ridge gourd lengthwise on all four sides, cutting around the stem, seeds, and ribs. With a sharp knife,
remove any remaining rib. Slice it as desired.
Mix turai, gram flour, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder,soda, salt and hing.
Add sufficient water to make thick batter.
Heat oil in a kadai. Drop pieces of turai one by one in oil and deep fry the pieces till all pieces turn crisp and cooked.
Drain on an absorbent paper. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
