Green peas pulao

Peas_pulaoGreen peas pulao also know as Matar pulao is very famous north Indian dish. Peas are starchy, but high in fiber, protein.Peas are mostly loved by man kids as its sweet in taste. Check out this simple and quick recipe.
It can served with Raita,tomato chutney or even with plain palad

 

 

Preparation Time : 20 mins

Cooking Time : 15 mins | Serves : 2

Ingredients

1 cup Basmati rice
1/2 cup Fresh peas
1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
1 large chopped Onion straight
2 Green chillies
1/2 tbsp garam masala powder
1 and 1/2 cups Water(as per required)
Green coriander finely chopped
Salt – to taste

To temper:

1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Shahi Jeera
1 big Bay leaf
1/2 inch piece Cinnamon
2 Cloves

Direction || to make Peas pulao

In a pressure cooker : Heat oil, ghee in a pan. Add jeera,cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf. Fry for 2mins till you get nice aroma of all the spices

Now add ginger garlic paste and onions and saute till golden brown.

Then add green chillies saute till it shrinks. Then add peas,garam masala powder and give a quick stir.Add required salt.

Rinse rice well and presoak in water for 15-20mins. Drain water and add the rice and at the last add green coriander finely chopped, give a quick stir.

Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.

Once pressure releases,serve hot with any pickle , palad or any chutneys.You can also granish the pulao with chopped green corainder(optional)
Tips:

Soaking rice 10 -15 mins before helps in cooking faster.
