Rava Cheese Balls
Looking out for a simple quick and easy starters/snacks here you go Suji/Rava Cheese balls makes a great starter recipe and will be loved by all age groups. As its a Ramadan month many of you must be looking out for a new appetizers as well as planning for any iftaari party , you can surely try this out at home.
I got this recipe from one of my friend when we had a potluck lunch in office and trust me they were amazing . I just loved it and wanted to try it from quite a long time at home.
So try this crunchy soft centered cheese balls with a combination of rava/suji. Please check the step by step recipe of rava cheese balls.

Ingredients
2 tbsp butter
2 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour (maida)
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup rava(roasted)
1/3 cup processed cheese
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
salt to taste
oil for deep-frying
To Be Mixed Into A Batter
1 cup plain flour (maida)
3/4 cup water
Heat the butter in a deep non-stick pan, add the milk and allow it to boil well .

Now add the rava in the hot milk and allow to simmer till the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan, while stirring continuously.

Remove from the flame and add ginger garlic paste ,coriander, red chilli powder ,
grated processed cheese (I used cheese spread as i couldn’t arrange any cheese cubes) and finally salt. Allow it to cool completely.






Once cooled, mix well and divide the mixture into 15 equal portions and shape each into a round ball.Dip a few balls at a time in the flour-water mixture till they are evenly coated from all the sides.



Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the balls a few at time on a medium flame till they are golden brown in colour from all the sides.


Drain on absorbent paper.

Serve immediately with tomato ketchup or any sauce of your choice.
Vegetable Lollipop

ollipops are famous among kids whether it be a sweet candy lollipop or a chicken lollipop. This summer vacation my kids visited their grandma’s place and since my mom is a veg lover,she wanted to try out a lollipops but a veg lollipops for her grandchildren and of course her daugther 🙂
Thanks mom for such a delicious and mind-blowing vegetable lollipop.
So here’s presenting you a secret step by step recipe with pictures from my mom’s kitchen 🙂
This dish tastes spicy & delicious with a combo of any sauce or dips. It can also be served as snacks with hot tea..!
For this recipe, we need cottage cheese i.e. paneer,carrots and all time favorite of kids none other than potato.

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves : 6 people
Ingredients:
6 medium size Boiled potato
2 medium size Carrots (grated)
200 gm Grated Paneer/cottage cheese
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp Red chilli powder(optional)
1 pkt Maggi masala/maggi magic cubes (optional)
1 tsp Chat masala powder
1/4 cup coriander(finely chopped).
250 gm breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon Cornflour
Cooking oil for fry
Toothpick/skewer(I used candy sticks)
Salt to taste.
Method :
Fine grate the paneer/cottage cheese and carrots and mix it together.
Peel off the boiled potato and mash it with grated paneer and carrots mixture .
Add ginger garlic paste and all the spices and chopped coriander into mashed potatoes, mix it properly.
Make equal size small oval balls of the mixture like lollipop and keep in refrigerator for an hour.
Mix the cornflour into a bowl and add little water to make thick batter.
Take out the balls from refrigerator.
Take one ball at a time, dip it in the batter and roll over on the breadcrumds till its propery coated.
Heat oil into a pan, Put the coated balls one by one into the hot oil.
Fry it on low flame for 1-2 minute then flip it and cook other side for 1-2 minute(fry till it turns light brown).
Take out on the kitchen towel to absorb extra oil, add the fried balls to toothpick or skewer like lollipop.
(I used candy as skewers and toothpicks both were not available)
Serve hot with tomato Ketchup and chips.

Tipsy Pudding
Tipsy Pudding , the name itself is catchy and tempting.It is a cake well soaked in fresh cream and served with fresh fruits.A must dessert to try this ramadan , its not only filling but also very beautiful,delicious mindblowing dessert.
This recipe is shared by my bro in law Lt Col K Zaheer Abbas, he is a very good cook and he had tried this recipe many times at home and for parties.

Ingredients
1 600 gm plain sponge cake
1 litre Amul fresh cream
120 gm Hide and seek biscuits
Cholocate Syrup (Hershey)
Vanilla essence
finely chopped fresh fruits (oranges,cherries,muskmelon,pineapple)
50 gm finely chopped Almonds and Cashews
600 ml Miranda/Fanta
300 gm Casor sugar
Direction || Step by step method to prepare Tipsy Pudding
Finely chop 50 gm Almonds and Cashews.
Pour 1 litre of cream in a big bowl.
Add few drops of vanilla essence and 3 tb of Castor Sugar to the cream.
Beat the whipping cream until stiff pick forms ,keep it aside.
While beating the Whipping cream be careful about not to over beat it,because if you over beat the butter starts to separate which spoils the purpose of whipping cream in the dish.
Divide the whipping cream in two parts,Pour the cream into a flat container.
Cut the sponge cake evenly and soak the cake well in the cream..Now the base of the desert is ready.
Top the cake with biscuits,chopped almonds and cashews as well as fresh fruits.
Next top it with the Hershey cholocate syrup and again top cream evenly over the pudding.
Repeat the process again , add cake, biscuits,nuts,fanta and chocolate syrup for the second layer.
For top layer orange zest to the whipping cream and just fold in,then spread the whipping cream evenly and keep in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Once chilled to your preference you can directly serve or decorate with some chopped dry fruits or fresh seasonal fruits.

Smiley Sushi Rolls
Sushi is a traditional food from Japan. It is a popular dish in other countries as well, such as America, Canada, and the UK, along with many other countries.
Sushi is made with specially prepared rice and it mostly contains raw or cooked seafood, and sometimes vegetables as well. I tried to prepared homemade Sushi roll
for my kids with raw vegetables. Trust me it’s not only healthy but yummy as well.Since it bought smile on my daughter’s face , i called this dish as smiley Sushi.

Ingredients
4 bread slices
¼ cup cream cheese
½ cup finely cut green capsicum juliennes (also know as juliennes )
½ cup yellow bell pepper juliennes
½ cup cucumber juliennes
½ cup carrot juliennes
¼ cup boiled corn
Salt to taste
chat masala powder to taste
Blanched spring onion stalk as required
For garnishing
Salad bouquet
Tomato ketchup as required
Direction || How to prepare Sushi rolls
Cut the sides of the bread.
Flatten the bread with the help of a rolling pin.
Apply cream cheese on this bread.
On these bread slices fill cucumber juliennes, carrot juliennes, green bell pepper juliennes, yellow bell pepper juliennes, boiled corn, salt, chat masala powder and make a roll.
Cut the sides of the roll.
Wrap the rolled bread with the help of blanched spring onion stalk. Make similar rolls.
Place the rolls on the plate and decorate it with Bouquet of Salad (Tie the carrot,cucumber,green capsicum and yellow bell pepper with the help of blanched spring onion stalk).
Decorate with tomato ketchup.

Canapes are also known as finger food. Its a small, prepared and usually decorative food, held in the fingers and often eaten in one bite. I chose kids snack time recipes and here is my first day kids friendly canapes.Monaco biscuits are little salty to add its good taste to the recipe.Canapes also looks very appealing , are extremely light to eat thus, make on to the list of a perfect snack for our kids.Enjoy this delicious and quick to make canapes with biscuits.

Ingredients:
10 Monaco Biscuits/ Any Salt Biscuit
1 banana
1/4 cup of Honey
1/4 cup of Jam
Direction || How to prepare Monaco Biscuits Canapes
Sliced the banana into pieces evenly.
Arrange the Monaco or salt biscuit on the plate
Place one slick of banana piece over each biscuits and top it little honey.
Garnish them with a drop of jam and Enjoy.
