Cold coffee with ice cream

Summer is upon us already, and by now most of us have switched over to drinking iced drinks. So why not try cold coffee instead of hot coffee.Try this refreshing iced and Cold Coffee to Beat the Heat. Its quick and easy to prepare at home.You can even serve your guest with cold coffee instead of hot tea/coffee this summer.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Serves : 3

Ingredients:

2 tbsp Instant Coffee powder
1 tbsp cocoa powder
4 tbsp Sugar
2 Cold Milk – 3 cup
1 or 2 ice cubes
2 to 3 ice cream scoops
Chocolate syrup as needed
3 tbsp Hot water

Directions || How to prepare Cold coffee

In a small bowl mix hot water with coffee powder and mix well.Let it cool down.

In a mixer add a cocoa powder ,coffee mixture,sugar and then put in milk, ice cubes and blend until creamy.

Take a glass, drizzle with chocolate syrup to create a pattern.

Pour this in a glass and you can add a scoop of icecream over it and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

Serve chilled.

Ramadan

The ninth month of the Islamic calender is known as Ramadan also written as ramazan, ramzan or Ramadhan.

Iftar is a meal that is served after the Magrib(evening prayer) azan to break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

There is intense spiritual meaning to Ramadan for those who fast. During this festival people practice generosity by being charitable,family-bonding by gathering around the iftar table, spirituality by praying, and self-control by practicing good manners.
All these habits build a feeling of peace, tranquility and self-satisfaction.

According to tradition, Prophet Muhammad broke fast with three dates , and hence muslims break their fast with dates and or water.
Many people enjoy the pleasure of hosting iftar parties at home where they get to greet their beloved friends,families and share the food together with the community.
A variety of foods are prepared for the iftar meal which includes fresh fruit ,juices , haleem , grilled kebabs , samosa , cutlets ,shahi tukda and many many more such interesting appetizers.

Ramadan is a very special month for me and hence I put in an effort to make this post wherein you can find such interesting Ramadan iftar recipes.

Shami Kebabs(Minced chicken kebabs)

Mix dal Pakora/Bhajji

 

Pakora (Fritter)or Bhajji’s is a famous recipe for Iftar and Ramadan. Pakoras are made in 90% homes at the time of iftar.Pakoray is a very tasty, light weight, and light saltish snack which taste good with tomato ketchup, raita or chutney.

I try to make different pakoras every time , sometimes aloo (potato)pakora, sometimes pyaz(onions) pakora and sometimes palak pakora.This is the first time, i tried this mix dal pakoras. I’m sharing with all this delicious and yummy mix dal pakora.

This is one of the most favorite pakora or you can say bhajji and there are so many sweet childhood memories attached to it. My mom use to prepare these Bhajji’s every tuesday to break her fast 🙂 and I used to wait for tuesday desperatley :)Mix dal pakora can also be served at tea time and snacks or even as starters.Click here for recipe


 


Minced Chicken-Spring onions samosa

Homemade chicken samosa – Ramadan special samosa is one of the favorite dish made in Muslim homes for Iftar.This crisy and cruncy samosa’s can be prepared even with any veggie stuffing like potatoes ,carrots and peas.Since its a month of ramadan , I prefer using minced chicken(you can even use minced meat instead).It also makes
the best party dishes as its universally loved by everyone 🙂 The un-fried prepared samosas can be refrigerated for a couple of days, this makes it quite easier during Ramadan. Khajur (Date) is the main food consumed in the month of Ramadan. It has many health benefits like dates are easy to digest so they don’t exhaust the fasting person stomach.Dates decrease the great hunger feeling of the fasting person and it also prepares the stomach to receive the food after being inactive through out the day with activating the release of digestive secretions and juices.
