This recipe is inspired from my mom’s kitchen and one of my favorite dish served with dal/rice or rotis.

Bhendi Masala_2

Prep time:30 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients

500 grams Okra/bhendi
1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
1 pinch of Garam masala powder
1 cup Roasted peanut powder
2 tablespoon garlic paste
1 spring of Coriander leaves, chopped
1/2 tablespoon Turmeric powder.
Cooking oil as required.
Salt to taste

Method

Trim the head and just slit on one side of the bhendis without breaking it in to two parts and keep it aside and stuff each bhendi with a pinch of salt.

Mix roasted peanut powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, garlic paste and chopped coriander for stuffing.

Stuff the mixture preapred in the bhendi one by one with a small spoon or with your hands

Heat oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the bhendi on a low heat till done.

Serve hot with rotis or dal/rice.

Tips

There should be no trace of water on the bhendi hence we dry them with a kitchen napkin.
If there is water droplets than the bhendi become slimy. this dish is not at all slimy but crunchy.
