Rice and Moong Dal water
So is your baby ready for weaning , if yes ,the first think you should introduce to your baby diet is rice water
and slowly and gradually after 3-4 days start with moong dal water.Now why rice water ??
Rice water is good for treating diarrhea and it helps to treat constipation as its smooth on digestive system.
It helps to keep your baby dehydrated, you can feed your baby every 3-4 hours a day.
Next step is to introduce Moong dal water , now why moong dal ?? among all the lentils,moong is the most safe
and non allergic food,its one of the best food for your babies.It includes a good source of vitamins,minerals and protien,also it is easy to digest.

Ingredients
For rice water
1/2 cup rice (please avoid basmati rice for your babies) I personally prefer using surti kolam.
1 cup water
salt
a pinch of asafoetida
For dal water
1/2 cup yellow moong dal
1 cup water
salt
1/4 turmeric powder
a pinch of asafoetida
Directions || How to prepare rice water
Soak the rice for 10-15 mins before cooking.
Wash well and add rice in a saucepan,add salt,asafoetida and water to it.
Boil until the rice is tender.
Strain the rice and collect the water.
Your rice water is ready.
Directions || How to prepare moong dal water
Soak the moong dal for 10-15 mins before cooking.
Wash well and add moong dal in a pressure cooker,add salt,turmeric powder,asafoetida and water to it.
Boil till 3-4 whistle.
Strain the dal and collect the water.
Your dal water is ready.
Wheat Almond Porridge_lapasi
Wheat Almonds porridge is a great baby food for your baby to be introduced at the age of 6 – 8 months
The reason being the first ingredient Almonds have a lot of healthy benefits like containing good fats instead of bad i.e. unsaturated fats, also almonds are also good for brain.
The second ingredient wheat is a rich source of carbohydrates.
Carbohydrate is used to generate energy that we require for performing any physical or mental activity.
Thus this recipe is a good energy source for your little prince/princess.
Preparation time : 15 mins
Cooking time : 5 mins
Serving 2 times
INGREDIENTS
For making wheat almonds mix powder
2 tbsp Wheat flour
¼ cup almonds
For porridge
1 tsp Ghee
2 tbsp wheat almonds mix powder
¾ cup Cows milk or breastmilk (for babies under one year )
¼ cup + ¼ cup water
sugar as per taste
Directions || To prepare Wheat Almonds Porridge
Wash the almonds thoroughly in a clean water.
Then heat a pan and dry roast the almonds for five minutes in low medium flame or until it changes its colour here and there.
Remove roasted almonds from the pan and transfer to a blender. Let it cool down for sometime.
Now Dry roast the wheat flour for five minutes in low medium flame for 5 minutes or until nice aroma comes.
Then switch off the flame and add the roasted wheat flour to the almond powder,blend it together and mix it well.
Once done, cool it down and store it in a airtight container.
Direction || How to make Porridge
Heat a sauce pan and add ghee in it.
Add mix powder to it and mix it well with ghee
Add milk(avoid adding milk if baby is not introduce to a cow milk or try using breastmilk) now to it and mix everything slowly with a whisk.
Next add 1/4 cup of water or upto desire consistency.
Make sure that there are no lumps formed. Cook the porridge in medium flame until everything cooked completely.
The porridge becomes thick after cooling down.So make sure you are turning off the flame at the right time.
Add sugar to it if you want to sweeten it else you can feed the baby directly , serve it lukewarm.
Note :
Sterilize the bowls and spoons used for feeding your baby in a vessel with hot water for five minutes and keep it immersed in the same vessel until use.
Boil cows milk if using in a vessel before using.
Try to use breast milk (for babies under one year )
Oats Apple Porridge_Lapasi
Oats apple porridge is one more great baby food for your baby to be introduced at the age of 6 – 8 months
Oats is a whole-grain food which is rich in fiber ,its contains more soluble fiber than any other grain and
its works good on your digestive systems and hence prevents constipation.If you follow vegetarian diet , its the
best food for your baby as its equivalent to meat , milk and egg protein
Oats is one of the best nutritious food for your baby.
Apples can be started when baby turns 6 months old. Apples are highly recommended at this stage at its
good to avoid constipation and diarrhea’s. Apples are rich in dietary fiber ,apple is good to treat cough
and not to forget it apple is very good to solve dental problems.
So combining both the ingredients together , oats and apple porridge makes the best healthy morning
breakfast or snacks to keep your baby active for the rest of the day.

1 quarter of an apple
¼ cup + ¼ cup water

Blend it to a fine powder.
Store it in a airtight container.

Semolina_Suji_Rava banana Porridge
Semolina/Sooji/Rava can to be introduced at the age of 6 – 8 months. Suji is rich in potassium ,iron and proteins. Suji is made from durum wheat and hence it helps you to feel full. Sooji provides great energy and hence it keeps your baby active. Suji tastes great and acceptable to babies too 🙂 Suji also serves as a good diet during fever or when tummy upset as its light to digest.
Banana is just the perfect first food for babies and its recommended to start it in either in 5th or 6th month.
Bananas is the one of the “power food” in baby’s diet as its highly rich in vitamin and potassium but low in
cholesterol,in short it contains more calories and 0 fat.But make sure you start by smaller portion like 1/4 of
